Early Season Success for Glyn in BTRDA series

 

Glyn’s second season with the MG ZR Challenge sees him leading the standings after the first three rounds.

 

Co-driving for Gary Wright in the Glenroyd Developments 1.4L challenger, round 1 saw the pairing claim 2nd in class on the Wyedean Stages despite fuel starvation problems.

 

The second round took the team to the snowbound Lake District for the Malcolm Wilson Stages and day turned out to be a fight for survival in the tricky conditions as Glyn explained, “This was my first time on this event, so the added challenge of sheet ice on many of the stages made it a rally to remember.  6th in class was scant resource for our efforts, but it was good points in any case.”

 

Moving back south for the Somerset Stages, saw a return to the event that saw Glyn and Gary team up for the first time in 2009.  The pairing were held up badly in the dust on the second stage and never regained the lost time.  4th in class saw more strong points and kept Gary and Glyn 2nd in class in the 1.4L class and 5th overall in the Millers Oils 1400 Championship.

 

“I’m delighted with the start of the season, but I’m sure it’s going to be a real fight to keep in first place.  We’ll be giving it everything on the Plains Rally, before moving to the BRC Challenge Jim Clark Rally.”
